About God's Little Treasures

GLT started as a dream. Dick Whitaker was committed to expressing what he believed. The people of God are to love others. Which raises the question, "How do you love the parents of this community?" "How do you join them in the challenge of raising kids in this society?" The vision clarified quickly. There needed to be an excellent childcare and preschool facility in Treasure Lake offering superior educational opportunities.

The distance between a dream and reality is sizeable. Faith is needed to span the gulf. Dick Whitaker believed that God would provide. Back in 2008, Treasure Lake Church did not have a facility that could accommodate a childcare and preschool. Within months something miraculous happened. A member of Treasure Lake Church donated a large sum of money to start the project. Ground was broken, and the facility that we use today was built.

Since the inception of the school, GLT has been blessed with qualified and dedicated teachers who really love the children. The atmosphere of care that has been the hallmark of GLT was born along with facility.

The staff at GLT are so pleased that we can serve the parents of our community.

I've been with GLT since the very beginning. My husband and I reside in DuBois, along with our 3 children. My family and I have attended Treasure Lake Church since 2012. Within the church ministries, I volunteer in Kids BLAST and Youth Group.
I have an Associate's Degree in Business Administration along with a background in Early Childhood Education. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved working with children, but I also had a love for business leadership. In 2015, God presented me a preschool teaching position at GLT, then in 2017 was offered the Directorship position, God had a plan!

I have and continue to have a vision, mission and goal for GLT. I believe Jesus needs to be the foundation of each child's life to help them become the best version of themselves. As educators, it is our responsibility to provide each child with an opportunity to succeed in childcare and preschool.

Within my leadership, I have found myself having a passion for mentoring others. I believe God had given all of us a purpose and we are to live that purpose out. I am fully dedicated to serve the families here at GLT. EAch day is a blessing to be able to work with each family that walks through our doors.

I have had the great privilege of being part of the God's Little Treasures family for a little over 6 years now! I grew up here in DuBois, PA, and attending college at Clarion University, where I earned a dual Bachelor's Degree in Special Education and Early Childhood.

As the assistant director and lead teacher here at God's Little Treasures, I strive to instill a love of God and learning, by making learning exciting and interesting for the children! My main goal is to motivate children to do their best and extend their own personal limits; by stimulating and helping them realize their full potential.

When I am not teaching children, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, attending Treasure Lake Church, traveling, being outdoors and crafting.
